Perry Riding – support for planning application

RDA logo for Perry Riding

Numerous attempts over the past eight years to locate a suitable site to build a new sustainable centre where the Perry Group can be guaranteed a future and many other groups and individuals can benefit.

A planning application has now been lodged for a site kindly put forward by the Willey Estates in Much Wenlock. Full details are available on the Shropshire council planning web page, and there are more details on the new Cavalier Centre website by clicking here.

If you would like to show your support please do so by lodging a supporting comment on the planning site, with a plan to gather 2,000 if possible. It involves registering first and then being e mailled back. It is a little time consuming but will be invaluable to the cause if you and any friends and supporters can spare the time to do it:

Go to www.shropshire.gov.uk and on the home page look at the column on the left and click on Environment and Planning.

You will next see a page with three main headings – Planning, Environment, Recycling and Rubbish.

Go to the Planning list and at the top Click on Online Planning Register.

The next page invites you to find or comment on an application.  Complete the Text Box with 14/02127/FUL and enter. Then follow the simple instructions to leave comments and I hope your SUPPORT for the application.

Autism West Midlands – NEW parent/carer course and Music Workshops for young people

Autism West Midlands LogoPractical Interventions Course for parents/carers

Please find details of a new course which takes place over 5 weeks (Tuesday evenings) in November/December. The course is aimed at parents/carers of children on the autism spectrum who have to physically intervene with their child to manage their challenging behaviour. The course will be delivered by one of our AWM training team using the Studio III approach http://studio3.org/about/

Parents/carers need to contact Autism West Midlands for a booking form. Due to the nature of the course there are only 12 places so they will be booked on a first come first served basis on receipt of the booking form and course fee (£20 for all 5 sessions). Similarly because of the limited number of places we are asking parents to be sure that they are able to attend all session dates before they book.

We are very grateful to Shropshire Council/Shropshire Clinical Commissioning Group for the opportunity to bring this training to Shropshire. For this reason the course is only open to parent/carers of Shropshire children under 18 with autism/autistic traits.

Please contact Hilary McGlynn at Autism West Midlands for a booking form or more information: 01743 210940 or email hilarym@autismwestmidlands.org.uk
